Gopi Manjari

Who am I? A brown woman, born with a quest—a seeker. In my 20s, my search led me to live in a Bhakti ashram, where I dedicated a decade in service, embracing a monastic lifestyle. I became a priestess and learned the art of ritual (puja), immersing myself in prayer, meditation, and mantra. I began to see the body as a sacred vessel housing the great spirit. Through movement, yoga, and breath awareness, my body came alive. Spirituality and healing were no longer just sedentary acts of contemplation, but are embodied, empowered dynamic movements.

After years of training, I created my own unique Bhakti-infused yoga and meditation style, organically composing dynamic fluid sequences infused with deep spirituality, mantras, breathwork, and kriyas to release untouched energy and prana. I believe in holding space for my students in a gentle yet empowering way, allowing traumas to surface and release while simultaneously awakening their untouched potential. The deep spirituality I weave into my classes leaves lasting impressions in the consciousness, guiding individuals toward positive and conscious change in their lives.

I lead national and international yoga retreats and have been the head of RYT 200-hour and 300-hour teacher training since 2006. I am the owner of Bhakti Yoga DC and the founder of Yoga Mandali in Saratoga Springs, New York. I have trained extensively with Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest, and Gary Kraftsow, and I am certified and trained in trauma-sensitive yoga, Thai yoga bodywork, and Ayurveda.
